Most of the lots for the Disney D23 Expo auction have been published and there are definitely some goodies to be had for the right price.
Props include items that once found a home around the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort such as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum sculptures from the World of Disney, a giant snow globe featuring Sleeping Beauty Castle, a cannon from Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean, a zebra destined for Jungle Cruise (but never quite found his way), a replica of the Pirates of the Caribbean barker pirate by Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily and the actual Hitchhiking Ghost figures from Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion, that would materialize inside guests’ doom buggies. Also up for auction, like at D23 Expo 2009, is a Peter Pan’s Flight vehicle, which (if memory serves) sold for $20,000 in 2009.
Experiences include a behind-the-scenes tour of Disney California Adventure’s World of Color with dinner at Napa Rose, a tour of Walt Disney’s Hollywood with Disney Legend and Archives founder Dave Smith, a Pirates of the Caribbean experience with Disney Legend and Imagineer Alice Davis, tours at Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios and more.
Not to mention plenty of art and other interesting artifacts, such as Disney Vinylmation coffee table with 200 figures (instant collection! and the ability to switch out for your own preferences).
To see the list of available items up for auction, click here. The auction will take place at Disney D23 Expo on Saturday, August 20 at 8 pm at Stage 23. Attendees wishing to participate in the bidding must purchase a separate paddle package.
